The hose is cut to the required length and neatly trimmed.
Attention is paid to a right-angled cut edge to ensure precise further processing.

Why Hose Assemblies are indispensable for hydraulic systems
Assembled hose lines are crucial for the safe operation of modern hydraulic systems. They transport pressurised fluid under sometimes extreme conditions and connect central components in mobile and industrial hydraulics.
As a flexible counterpart to pipelines, they enable variable installation conditions, reduce assembly work and offer a high level of operational safety - especially when they have been professionally manufactured, crimped and tested.
For us at STAUFF, Hose Assemblies are a central component of the STAUFF Line approach, with which we offer OEMs complete, customised system solutions.
Structure and function of an assembled hose line
An Hose Assembly line consists of:
Hose fitting, consisting of hose insert and swage ferrule
The manufacturing process creates a permanently tight, high-pressure-resistant connection by inserting the hose insert into the end of the hose and then mechanically crimping the sleeve from all sides according to the manufacturer's specifications.
Important: A hose is always fitted with fittings on both sides in order to be ready for use.
Production steps at STAUFF: from hose preparation to testing
The hose tail is inserted into the prepared hose end and positioned correctly.
The crimping sleeve is then mechanically crimped according to the manufacturer's specifications, whereby some hose designs require the outer layer to be peeled beforehand.
The finished line is subjected to a pressure test, which is carried out according to standard specifications or customer-specific parameters.
This ensures the tightness and resilience of the connection.
The tested hose assembly is labelled or marked.
This ensures complete traceability.
The connection ends are sealed with protective caps or foils.
This prevents dirt or moisture from penetrating during transport or storage.
New manufacturing expertise in Poland: What we have built up there
At STAUFF Poland, we have invested heavily in equipment, training and process reliability. The first Hose Assemblies were successfully produced under live conditions in February 2026. The new production unit offers:
Capacities for small and medium-sized series
High process reliability and documented test sequences
State-of-the-art pressing and measuring technology for precise results
Labelling options for seamless traceability
This not only strengthens local production capacities, but also increases the availability of customised hose lines for the whole of Europe.
Interlocking within the STAUFF Group
Our work in Poland is closely linked to the existing European production facilities. We cooperate particularly closely with:
STAUFF UK (Centre of Excellence)
STAUFF France
STAUFF Italy
When special requirements arise or order peaks occur, we support each other - a central component of our global, but partnership-based self-image as a company.
Importance for OEMs in the STAUFF Line approach
OEMs will benefit even more from the expansion in Poland:
Short delivery routes and higher availability
Scalable quantities from single units to series production
Quality-assured, documented test processes
Integrated care in the STAUFF Line approach
In this way, we are making an important contribution to securing global supply chains and strengthening European manufacturing structures.
FAQs
What is a Hose Assembly?
A customised hydraulic hose line that is made permanently leak-proof and pressure-resistant by crimping the hose insert and fitting.
Why do some hoses have to be skived?
Because skiving improves the connection between the hose and fitting and increases the durability of the crimping.
What role will STAUFF Poland play in the future?
As an additional production unit, we are expanding European capacity and supporting OEMs with short distances, flexible quantities and stable supply chains.
What sets STAUFF apart from other suppliers?
Our STAUFF Line approach combines components, systems and services to create a comprehensive OEM solution - including quality-assured hose assembly.
