Suction filters of type SUS from STAUFF are typically used in mobile hydraulics and stationary hydraulics. They have been developed for direct installation in hydraulic tanks and other reservoirs. The standard versions are suitable for use with mineral oil-based and petroleum-based hydraulic fluids (HL and HLP). Alternative versions for other media are available on request.Ā
Depending on the selected size, STAUFF suction filters are suitable for a maximum flow rate of up to 400 litres per minute.Ā
The position of the filter in the hydraulic tank should always be below the minimum liquid level. As the first element in the hydraulic filtration circuit, they are usually connected to the intake line and therefore serve as a protection filter for hydraulic pumps. Ā
STAUFF suction filters are usually connected to the line using a BSP female thread (as per ISO 228) or NPT female thread (as per ANSI B1.20.1).Ā
The upper end cap with a connecting thread is made of either aluminium or fibreglass-reinforced polyamide (PA). The lower end cap is made of galvanised steel. Ā
The standard filter material is stainless steel mesh with a filter grade of 125 micrometres. Alternative grades between 60 and 250 micrometres are also available on request.Ā
Optionally integrated bypass valves with an opening pressure of 0.2 bar reduce the risk of high pressure fluctuations, which can be caused by strongly contaminated suction strainers or highly viscous media.Ā
